The Fisherman's Market was founded in 2003 by two commercial fisherman with over 30 years combined fishing experience. Since then they have been committed to supplying their customers with the highest quality seafood possible. They are devoted to finding exceptionally handled fish from their contacts on the West Coast. These fishing contacts allow them to not only know where their seafood is from and how it is fished, but also on many occasions it allows for them to skip the middlemen, ultimately saving you money.
The Fisherman's Market - Kelowna
The "Fisherman's Market" has come to Kelowna! Adding a powerhouse in the seafood industry, Cory Seigner has joined the Fisherman's Market crew and will be running the Kelowna location formally known as "Hooked On Seafood". With a lifetime of experience in the industry Cory and his team will bring a huge variety of boat direct, BC caught seafood to this recently remodeled location. A live tank is on site for all your lobster and crab needs and the newly introduced "Whale Bone" fish and chips, will satisfy even the hungriest man with a full fillet of ocean wise grey cod cooked to perfection. Fisherman's Market Kelowna is here to serve all your seafood needs.
Meet the Crew
Adam Pearl - Owner
Adam was born into a fishing family. He started as a deckhand on his fathers boat, was a full share man by 18, and the skipper by 21. Adam moved to Newfoundland and received a diploma in Seafood production from the Marine Institute. Adam currently runs a west coast prawn boat as well as fishing for halibut and blackcod.
Geoff Austin - Owner
Geoff grew up on fishing on Vancouver Island. He started commercially fishing in the summers as a teenager and progressed to a full time fisherman for over 10 years. Geoff still fishes commercially and is often sought out by crews who require his extensive experience & knowledge in halibut, black cod, prawns, crab-bing, live rockfish, ling cod, herring, octopus and tuna.
Cory Siegner - Owner
Cory knows the industry like no one else. A life time seafood broker and fish monger, Cory's family has been involved in British Columbia's seafood industry for generations. You can ask Cory anything and get an informed and honest answer. From halibut to octopus Cory has seen and sold it all. It's this extensive knowledge in the seafood industry that makes Cory a perfect fit to the Fisherman's Market team.
Jeremy Wheeler - Nelson Manager
Jeremy is Fisherman's Market Nelson's store manager. Starting out as the Dock Restaurant cook Jeremy has earned his stripes in the seafood industry. Years of fish retail and wholesale experience and time spent at sea deck handing on a prawn boat. Jeremy is in Nelson to help service your seafood needs, both retail and wholesale.
Joel DeVito - Nelson's In-house Butcher
A longtime fixture at the Fisherman's Market in Nelson. A trained and certified meat cutter and chef. Joel is always around and more then happy to help you along in deciding whats on your menu for dinner or that special event. It only takes a moment to spot him, he's the tall one with the smile.
Beth Callis - Designer, Seafood Specialist
Our longest serving crew member, starting her tenure with us in 2003, Extremely knowledgeable in the safe handling of seafood, customer's can find a world of information through Beth on a wide variety of topics including cooking, filleting, storage and pricing. Beth recently has stepped back from the counter has taken control of the Fisherman's Markets image providing our customers with the information needed along with our advice in choosing seafood that is good for the body and the soul.
Kim Pearl - Seafood Specialist
Kim has done the rounds in the Fisherman’s Market.Proficient in many of the duties around the shop including; fish monger, waitress, cook and sales rep Kim has the well rounded skills that we at the Fisherman’s market rely on to be considered experts at what we do. Kim has also put extensive time in on the open ocean. Kim excelled in both areas. Kim will be sure to do her absolute best to serve you.
