PREFERRED COOKING METHODS
Fisherman’s Market Langostino is just the tail meat peeled and cooked similar to that of our hand peeled shrimp meat. To use this product in any cooked dish, simply toss your langostino meat into the dish near the end of the cooking time to serve it warm. Langostino is quite fatty therefore making it hard to overcook in any circumstance. Langostino goes great in many hot dishes such as soups and chowders, casseroles, mac and cheese dishes, pastas or heated up in any variety of sauces to top over a main protein like halibut, steak, or chicken. Langostino is also versatile and tasty enough to simply thaw and add into a salad, or use in any number of cold dishes such as ceviche, sushi rolls, or cocktails (the dish, not the drink;) ). It is also an excellent substitute for any dish asking for cooked shrimp meat or lobster meat. FISHERMONGER TIPS When thawing your Langostino meat, make sure to pat dry gently. If you squeeze it too hard, you lose some of the naturally salted water that is in it. That’s flavour country for your dishes. If you don’t want to use all the Langostino meat in your vacuum sealed pack at once, fear not! They are all individually frozen meaning they will come apart if you open the seal properly. Just poke a small whole in the seal and allow some air in. Then gently drop the package on the floor and they will all separate (this will not damage the product). Our Langostino meat is cooked so you can eat it upon thawing. That said this is not always the case elsewhere so you should make sure you’re buying a cooked product before consuming raw!
